No! You Are Not Crazy!
Haven’t been feeling your usual upbeat self lately and been told your symptoms are all in your head? Do you feel like people think you are crazy, even though you know something is wrong? Well, rest assured that you are definitely NOT crazy! Dr. Shawna Eichens of Rockwood Natural Medicine Clinic joined me this week on The Successful #Soulopreneur Radio Show sponsored by Starshine Communities, to explain that you are probably just misunderstood and your symptoms have been mistreated.
In Dr. E’s experience, many people who deal with chronic pain have been unsuccessful in finding relief through taking supplements. This is because, in her professional opinion, there is always a mental and an emotional connection to the pain. Dr. E goes on to share the story of a woman who came to her with fibromyalgia – a condition usually with systemic pain and for in the Western world there's no cause and there's no treatment. This woman was living with chronic pain that gets worse from overexertion and is very debilitating, exhausting, frustrating to deal with on a daily basis.
It is important to know that when you meet with Dr. E, that she is going to dig deep and ask probing questions to really get to the root cause of your condition. She wants to figure out what happened, why and when so that she can bring you into balance. Which is exactly what she did with this patient. And, because this patient was in so much pain and so open in her sharing her story, Dr. E offered up a treatment she doesn’t usually explore on the first visit – Nuero Emotional Treatment – also known as NET.
NET is a mind-body approach to help stress related conditions. Developed in the early 1980s it is a psychosomatic stress reduction intervention procedure aimed at improving health. This treatment was so effective that the patient actually walked out pain free for the first time in years. Fast forward to her follow-up 3-weeks later where she said “I'm amazing. I'm back to my old self. My energy's up. I'm back to being productive and I haven't had pain since.”
